BA Cityflyer Ground Operations Risk - London, United Kingdom - British Airways

    Default job background
    Description
BA Cityflyer is an airline with a difference. Yes, we're part of the British Airways family and take great pride delivering the same impeccable customer service. However, we also do things in our own, unique way.

We serve a business and leisure market from London City, a single-terminal airport just east of Canary Wharf. It's a place where you'll really get to know your colleagues and become part of a close-knit team.

You might also get to know our customers too, some of whom fly with us weekly, or even daily. In fact, our diverse and dedicated team really feel like they're part of a family when they join us.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in exciting places, a job at BA Cityflyer is yours to make.

This is an airline where your original personality and skills will really shine through.

    The Role

As a key member of the Airports & Customer Operations (ACO) team, the Ground Operations Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for managing safety, security, operational risk, and compliance at London City Airport and across our outstation operations.

In addition to investigating incidents and conducting audit/assurance activity, the post holder will analyse trends and proactively address these, produce management information and communications, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and promote a just culture across our airport operations. The role also focuses on business resilience across our airport operations, operational change management, as well as overseeing the delivery of ad-hoc charter and wet-lease operations.

    What you'll do

In this highly varied and dynamic role, you will be responsible for working with a wide range of stakeholders in the investigation of safety and security reports, managing compliance audit findings and ensuring the resilience of our airport operations, at London City Airport and across our varied outstation network. You'll also play a key role in supporting the operational delivery of our ad-hoc charter operations.

What you'll bring to BA Cityflyer

We're looking for a team player with a good understanding of airline operational risk, compliance and business resilience principles. You'll be a natural problem solver with great attention to detail, and an ability to quickly build relationships with stakeholders to influence change. Adept at conducting thorough investigations and coaching others, you'll also possess a strong ability to prioritise and multi-task. Most of all, you'll enjoy the excitement, variety and buzz that comes from working in a dynamic airline environment, where you'll spend your time not only sat at a desk, but regularly out in the operation.

    Your experience:
    • Extensive operational experience
    • Previous experience of working in an operational role with an airline/ground handling agent/airport operator, with a strong focus on operational compliance and ground safety.
    • Good understanding of industry ground operations procedures, such as IATA AHM, IATA SGHA, IGOM, etc.
    • Proven experience and knowledge of airport procedures, to include passenger and ramp handling, load control, etc.
At BA Cityflyer, we are flexible in our approach and hybrid working opportunities are available. Due to the operational nature of this role, it is expected that at least three days per week are spent at London City Airport, with flexibility on working days, and start and finish times, to suit off-peak travel times or other commitments.

    What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It's one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary.

From the day you join us, you'll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights. You'll also receive up to 30 discounted 'Hotline' airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.

At BA Cityflyer you'll have the chance to take on new challenges and move forward in a way that feels right for you. We encourage all those who work for us to consider opportunities right across our business to help you develop and progress.

We never stand still, and we don't expect our people to either.

At BA Cityflyer we all have a part to play in creating an inclusive place to work. Diverse representation among our people is really important to us and we recognise that all our colleagues are uniquely different and bring their own originality, creativity and identity to work.

Inclusion and diversity is a key driver of innovation and we're committed to creating a culture where everyone feels that they can be themselves. We're looking for people from all backgrounds and cultures to join us and be a part of our journey to become a Better BA as we continue to connect Britain with the world and the world with Britain
