About Us:

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a vibrant place to live and work.

Within the Council, we put residents and businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership to provide quality services that are responsive, efficient and effective.

We want to be the best council and are committed to protecting public health and the wider environment.

We take environmental quality seriously. In this densely populated borough, every square metre of land counts.

As land is redeveloped, we ensure it is suitable for use and potential contamination is addressed and remediated where necessary.

The Role:

- all with the goal of putting our communities first. You can also expect to respond to requests for information about previous land uses that may have the potential to have caused contamination and assist with drafting and then implementing a new contaminated land inspection strategy.

Please refer to the

About You:

This is a specialist role demanding some experience in contaminated land project work, preliminary risk assessments, site investigation, qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, remediation strategies and verification works.

You will hold a degree-level qualification in environmental engineering, geology or another discipline relevant to contaminated land, and have a detailed understanding of environmental legislation and guidance.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
