Position:Senior Product Engineer and Quality Technologist
Salary range:£40,000 - £45,000
Location: Skelmersdale

The role
Job purpose:To set and deliver quality standards for all our products. Ensure all technologie sand design of the shoes are regularly reviewed and updated. Key stakeholder in the critical path of new development.
Main outputs of the role:
Product
Support the Product Team by assessing designs for manufacturability, production, and material properties, offering economic and efficient solutions to achieve cost targets.
Manage the technical fit and sample process in line to the critical path, ensuring consistent standards and commercial viability.
Design proto ideas developed into samples which are engineered to meet Hotter comfort standards.
In conjunction with stakeholder ensure designs are optimum for manufacture processes and technical specifications are agreed in line with critical path.
UK Factory production processes are optimised ensuring plant efficiencies are optimised.
External suppliers adhere to Hotter standards for fit, pattern engineering and technology.
Create positive working relationships with all suppliers, ensuring quality and fit are to specification.
Offer technical solutions to the team taking into consideration building to cost and manufacturing constraints.
Lead the local Indian team ensuring quality and ethical standards are met.
Responsible for the sign off, of confirmation samples to technical specification.
Technology
Future proof the brand ensuring we are ahead or on the curve of latest technology and is applied to seasonal reviews.
Working with the Head of Buying to develop a new kit strategy and critical path.
Quality
Maintain a record of Factory audits (e.g. sedex) for all factories we use (either directly or via an agent). Traceability is required throughout the supplier chain.
Quality management processes are in place for international suppliers ensuring quality and ethical standards are adhered to, with full traceability of all components.
Analyse returns data and feedback any found issues.
Traceability of external testing required by suppliers.
Ensure data flow from returned product due to quality and fit is acted on and informs future technical specification.
