Description

To work collaboratively with education providers in monitoring the quality of existing and new placements in the Trust and independent sector.

Work across organizational boundaries, including the NENC LMNS, Universities and other NHS Trusts, including the PPF Network, to develop placements that will that will enhance the student learning experience.

Work in partnership with education providers to ensure placement areas meet NMC, HCPC and other professional bodies standards for practice placements.

Attend monthly regional and local meetings to collaborate and share information and learning.

Through HOM and the Director of Practice Placements liaise with HEE regarding the broader issues of practice placement management. Liaise with placement officers for other groups of students as appropriate.

Provide specialist advice to a range of health care professionals which may have a conflict of interest such as capacity, educational standards, and NMC adaptation programmes.

Lead the education, development and ongoing support of practice assessors and educators; delivering assessor updates to comply with NMC/HCPC and University requirements.


Organise and support Trust practice assessors and supervisors to attend moderation sessions and student interviews in the University setting Work in partnership with ward/dept managers to ensure Education Audits of placements are undertaken as required and develop action plans where standards are not met.

Communicate with senior management and ward/department teams on change processes which are sensitive in nature and can affect service developments.

Makes presentations/contributions to large multi-professional groups, and at local and regional conferences. Be able to respond to unpredictable situations in a manner that maintains working relationships.
