Description
We are looking for a confident and motivated Assistant Practitioner to join our team.

We work in the community with children who have complex communication difficulties and their families.


We would be asking you to implement recommendations made by the speech and language therapists working in the complex communication team across Colchester and Tendring.


We will also need you to be able to carry out some administrative tasks such as appointment booking, inputting data, resource making and dealing with telephone queries.

You will therefore need to be IT literate, highly organised and able to prioritise workload.

Occasional evening work may be required.

We are a very supportive and passionate group, with good links across children's services. We provide regular appraisal and continued development

  • To assist qualified Speech & Language Therapists in the assessment and treatment of children referred into the service.
  • To undertake support work to aid in the management of children with a wide range of communication difficulties working in a variety of settings, including health, nurseries, schools and family homes.
  • Under the guidance of a qualified therapist, carry out and supervise individual and group sessions.
  • To assist in the administrative work of the therapists within the team.
