Contract services include providing the maintenance, equipment, and labour to complete the job.


Harsco Rail offers contract services for Rail Grinding and has been grinding rail for over 50 years, covering more than 300,000 km (192,000 miles) in the last 7 years.


Job Description:


JOB PURPOSE

  • To assist and support the Harsco Rail operations management team in ensuring that Harsco Rail remains compliant with regulatory, industry and internal standards
  • Administrate the ETDL (ORR Train Driver Licencing) system for Harsco Rail
  • Maintain the Sentinel Scheme database for Harsco Rail
  • Manage Harsco Rail's medical database for all employees including managing medical suppliers and maintaining medical periodicity compliance for all employees
  • Support the Harsco Rail CMS (competency management system) through routine administration and system maintenance (ACMS)
  • Provide administration support for internal and external courses including sourcing, preparation of training materials, course bookings and record keeping

  • Excellent administrative skills with minimum 5 years' experience
  • Knowledge of Sentinel Scheme would be desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Train Drivers mandatory documentation and distribution would be desirable but not essential

Additional Information

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • To assist in ensuring that Harsco Rail maintains compliance with all internal and industry standards relating to Train Driving, Operation and Maintenance of OTM
  • To assist with any internal and external audits providing information and documentation as required
  • To ensure data relating to employee competence is input into the appropriate system with the necessary data accuracy maintained
  • Provide information and reports as necessary for the Standards Manager and Senior Leadership Team
  • To undertake any occupational or vocational training as required
  • To ensure Train Driver Route knowledge information continually updated, accurate and available at any time for review, including on the Route Risk Register
  • Assist crew with route learning materials, Maps, DVDs & Cab Access
  • Work with the Control Support Assistant to obtain / renew Cab Pass agreements as required
  • Administer Training Needs Analysis (TNA), including collating TNAs received, recoding them on the TNA spreadsheet and ensuring that the Trainers and Training Manager are notified promptly of requests coming in
  • Manage the Harsco Rail Training Plan with Trainers to prioritise and arrange training
  • Arrange training venues
  • Organise and print course resources
  • Send out Joining instructions
  • Source and arrange medical suppliers and external training providers
  • Collate and manage training records including feedback, certificates and attendance records
  • Manage the Sentinel Scheme and all records including Contracts of Sponsorship
  • Monitor and arrange medicals, Drugs & Alcohol testing, PTS, COSS and other training and recertifications as required
  • Support the maintenance of the Harsco Rail CMS for all safety critical staff
  • Arrange occupational Psychometric assessments as required
  • Administer Harsco Safety Critical Work ID cards (SCWID)
  • Administer European Train Driving License and TDLCR complimentary certificates
  • Manage and issue Sentinel TVP following the correct procedure
  • Ad hoc duties as required by your Line Managers
