Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Supporting a Year 2 Pupil with ADHD

Job Type : Full-time for full academic year

Start Date: September 2024

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a lovely primary school in Cardiff. The successful candidate will provide individualised support to the pupil, helping them to achieve their full potential and integrate smoothly into the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to the Year 2 pupil with ADHD, assisting with lessons and activities.
• Help the pupil develop organisational and time management skills, as well as strategies for managing their ADHD.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to ensure seamless integration of support.
• Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the pupil, parents, and teachers.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or ADHD
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong behaviour management skills

Pay and Hours:

• £12.90 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute break
• Ongoing role for the full academic year
