    Legal & General are currently looking for an Interim Financial Crime Consultant to join their Group Financial Crime (GFC) team and lead/support on a number of programmes across the GFC framework.

    For the right candidate, we can offer up to £750 p/d inside of IR35 (plus 17.3% Umbrella uplift) to join L&G on a 48-week contract. Based out of the L&G office in London (One Coleman Street), you will work on a hybrid basis, ideally attending the office once per week, though further flexibility may be available.

    Reporting into and working closely with the Head of GFC for Risk & Controls, you will coordinate and deliver FC Risk Assessments, develop management information and board reports, be exposed to writing annual MLRO Reports and play a key role in revamping and enhancing the current Risk Assessment system.

    Principal accountabilities:

    1. To take a leading and/or supporting role with respect to programs related to the GFC 'Risk & Controls' sub-function, which include, for example:
    • Design and delivery of GFC's Financial Crime Risk Assessment program covering all relevant risk types for all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate
    • Design and maintenance of GFC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite program covering all relevant risk types for all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate
    • Design and execution of GFC's Controls 'Quality Assurance and Oversight program, covering all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate
    • Oversight and tracking of all Financial Crime risk events and issues covering all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate
    • Oversight and tracking of all Financial Crime related control remediation covering all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate
    • Design and delivery of GFC's Financial Crime MI & Reporting program covering all relevant risk types for all L&G divisions, entities, and jurisdictions as appropriate.
    1. To work collaboratively with other GFC Team members who may be addressing other programs, within other GFC sub-functions, as part of the GFC Framework, to ensure alignment.
    2. To take an active role in other ad-hoc GFC initiatives which may arise and fall within GFC's responsibilities, as required.
    3. To work collaboratively with wider Group Conduct Risk team-members, and stakeholders across the L&G operating divisions and group functions in the execution of accountabilities 1-5.
    4. Subject to mutual agreement between you and the Group Financial Crime Director, you may rotate within GFC to another sub-function for an agreed period of time in order to develop your skills and to help build resilience and knowledge transference across GFC.

    Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, knowledge, and skills:

    • Educated to degree level with 5-10 years' experience in similar roles within large and complex Financial Services organisations.
    • Good technical skills and/or previous experience in enhancing systems relating to FC would be advantageous.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of all the below, with respect to Financial Crime covering: Sanctions, AML/CTF, Fraud, ABC, CCO, Insider Dealing and Market Abuse:
      • UK Regulatory and legislative framework
      • Financial Crime policies and procedures
      • Key Financial Crime risks affecting the Financial Services industry
      • Key Financial Crime controls implemented by organisations within Financial Services.
    • Experience in leading/supporting FC investigations and producing FC reports and management information.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively, both individually and within a team.
