£52,000 - £60,000
Rural Maidstone
1 day remote / work from home, 4 days in the office
Permanent role
Start date - January 2023
Interviews ASAP
Monday to Friday - 35 hour week - between 7.30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday with a 12.30pm finish on Friday

25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)**We are working in partnership with a marketing-leading manufacturing company in the Maidstone area who are looking for a Procurement Manager to head up their busy purchasing team.

The successful Procurement Manager will ideally have experience within (or an understanding of) the engineering / technical sector. Procurement Manager's with their CIPS qualification would be preferred but not essential. Previous Procurement Managementexperience working with SAP (or an alternative MRP software) within a manufacturing company is essential.

The successful Procurement Manager will be someone who enjoys face to face interaction with their key suppliers as you will ideally be out visiting suppliers once or twice a month.

The duties for this Procurement Manager role will include but not be limited to:

Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies, including cost down initiatives and improvements to the logistics flow
Tracking and reporting KPI's to reduce costs and improve effectiveness
Managing existing and introducing new contracts and supplier agreements, negotiating terms, arranging site visits and audits
Managing the purchasing team, including training on SAP and ongoing staff development
Working with the Facilities Manager and CFO to negotiate contracts for energy and utilities
Completing quarterly reviews and presenting them to the SLT when required

The successful Procurement Manager will have/ be:

CIPS qualified (ideally)
Engineering or technically minded
Previous procurement management experience within a manufacturing environment
A supportive, encouraging (but not micromanaging) management style
Previous SAP MRP experience
A results and serviceled individual who is confident negotiating prices and service and heading up costdown initiatives
