An opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health & Safety team.

This is an incredible opportunity to assist the Health & Safety Manager in a wide range of environments from Pet Hospitals to Retail Shops.

About the Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide support and advice in a multi-site environment with many and varied challenges


This will involve:
- offering day to day support with queries from a range of stakeholders and proposing solutions to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
- providing support for the continuing review of the safety management system to achieve organisational objectives
- providing support to the Health & Safety Manager in the development of health and safety policies and procedures, using technical expertise to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- when necessary, assisting site leaders with accident investigations to ensure all relevant information is obtained and documented, such as photographs, witness statements, training records
- liaising with a range of stakeholders and external experts when required, such as the Radiation Protection Adviser

  • Ad hoc travel to a variety of PDSA sites is expected

About you
You will have experience of working in a similar role and completed the IOSH Managing Safely course (or equivalent).

You will be able to demonstrate that you have the following skills:

- ability to investigate accidents to determine root cause and provide suitable recommendations
- evidence of developing effective team and stakeholder relationships across the organisation
- excellent communication skills with the initiative to solve problems and make a difference
- have the drive and passion to learn new skills, and strive to get it right

  • IOSH Managing Safely is essential
