NRG are delighted to announce we are working alongside a well-established brand in the Health and Fitness industry in their pursuit of a Lead Developer.
Our client is seeking a seasoned professional to join their team and spearhead the in-house transition of their vital membership system. As the Lead Developer, you will be responsible for guiding a team of 3-5 developers, overseeing the effective development and deployment of a PHP front end coupled with a MySQL backend running on Ubuntu. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in steering strategic decisions and overseeing the management of system changes.
Duties:
Team Leadership:
● Guide and motivate a team of 3-5 developers to attain project objectives.
● Nurture a collaborative and inventive development atmosphere.
● Facilitate routine team meetings and offer direction on project priorities.
Project Management:
● Supervise the complete development lifecycle of the membership system.
● Create and administer project timelines, guaranteeing the achievement of milestones.
● Work closely with stakeholders to delineate project requirements and goals.
Technical Proficiency:
● Demonstrate robust skills in PHP for front-end development.
● Expertise in the design and administration of MySQL databases.
● Optimize the system for performance, scalability, and security.
● Address and resolve technical issues promptly as they emerge.
Strategic Involvement:
● Engage with senior management to synchronize development endeavours with the overarching business strategy.
● Offer insights on technology decisions in harmony with the organization's long-term vision.
● Participate actively in conversations and initiatives concerning system enhancements and improvements.
Change Management:
● Spearhead and oversee initiatives for system change to elevate operational efficiency.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to pinpoint areas for improvement and execute necessary changes.
● Effectively communicate changes to the team, ensuring a seamless transition.
Collaboration:
● Cooperate with various departments to comprehend business requirements.
● Forge close partnerships with UI/UX designers for the implementation of an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
● Coordinate with system administrators for deployment and server maintenance.
Quality Assurance:
● Instigate and supervise testing processes to ensure the reliability and functionality of the system.
● Conduct comprehensive code reviews and furnish constructive feedback to the development team.
● Enforce best practices for quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Skills:
● Demonstrated expertise as a Lead Developer or in an equivalent capacity.
● Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, and Ubuntu server administration.
● Background in front-end technologies, encompassing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
● Outstanding leadership and communication capabilities.
● Aptitude for prioritizing and overseeing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
