    Automation Engineer (SCADA/EC&I) - Johannesburg, South Africa - 3-6 months+

    For a large client in the Data Centre industry, we are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer (SCADA/EC&I) for a 3 month+ contract in Johannesburg, South Africa. The role will require you to travel to South Africa every week for the initial 3 months (all travel expenses covered and enhanced rate if located in Europe for the initial period) and then you will be able to work remotely thereafter with occasional travel.

    The Role

    You will:

    1. Support program management for automation related workstreams
    2. Support and enable coordination for several projects from design through to go live
    3. Coordinate with teams across different time zones
    4. Help agree milestones for completion of various systems (MEP, IT, Construction), schedule testing phases for development and remediation projects
    5. Oversight on schedules and commissioning scripts for each general contractor, and OFCI supplier leading up to a coordinated program for testing of main OFCI equipment (L1 to L5)
    6. Identify long lead items, and see to their inclusion in the Master Project Schedule in coordination with Project Controls, Construction and Operations including all updates
    7. Assist to coordinate integration support schedules, allowing for sufficient time to program, test, and commission mission-critical control systems
    8. Ensure all Controls related design documents are tracked on Procore by the System Integrator
    9. Support process improvement and cost optimisation initiatives for BMS/Controls related activities during commissioning
    10. Be responsible for all project reporting and documentation related to the control and automation of equipment for each site

    Your Skills

    Strong project management experience and qualifications
    Data centre experience preferred
    Experience in mission critical/highly regulated environments is preferred
    Understanding of automated reporting and visualization of data through Power BI
    SCADA platform experience, Ignition preferred
