Description
We are recruiting school leavers to undertake apprenticeships in the following areas: Coachbuilding, Spray Painting & Panel Beating.

You will work in our Torrance based vehicle workshops and you will be joining a long established family business that is a leading vehicle repairer in the UK's automotive industry.

Successful applicants will work to achieve a Modern Apprentice Qualification and will attend Glasgow Training Group on a block release basis.


Hours
Full time, 40 hours per week.

Day shift - Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am to 2.00pm.


About the role


As one of our trainees, you will assist tradesmen undertake a variety of tasks involved in the repair/repainting of accident damaged vehicles.

You will work on all types of vehicles, including cars, vans, buses, coaches, and HGVs.

To be the right fit for this role, trainees must be hardworking, punctual and enthusiastic. You will also require a keen eye for detail and be capable of working to a high quality level.

Show ability in learning to use a variety of hand tools, power-tools and machinery in a safe & responsible manner.

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to future employment as a tradesman - a fully trained tradesman's pay is around £700.

00 per week plus overtime


Day-to-day duties & responsibilities

  • Working as part of our workshop team, follow and understand relevant instructions, and achieve the relevant work quality requirement.
  • Assist existing staff in their daily duties.
  • Assist in the final build up and cleanoff on finished jobs when required.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Undertake daily workshop housekeeping duties as instructed.
  • Maintain the daily Health & Safety requirements of the company.

Preferred Skills
Ability to listen and understand instructions and possess strong communication skills. The ability to work well as part of a team or individually, as required.

Health and Safety awareness within a workshop environment.

Ability to work flexible work patterns
