What you'll do:


  • Provide advice and guidance in respect of terms and conditions of employment and best practice in respect of company policies, e.g. maternity leave, parental leave, flexible working and to ensure that all current employment legislation is complied with
  • Participate, support and lead managers on full case management from beginning to end on a range of HR matters including investigations,disciplinary, grievance, absence management, probationary reviews,reorganisation and capability/performance management
  • Adopt a coaching and mentoring approach to develop managers' confidence and competence to manage HR cases and make good people decisions
  • Produce and analyse management information in respect of staff turnover, sickness absence and exit interviews
  • Liaise with the appropriate HR Coordinators and HR Business Partners to ensure that all relevant correspondence is produced in line with timescales
  • Prepare and deliver HR related training courses
  • Advise and support managers with all aspects of the company sickness absence policy, organising company occupational referrals, supporting employees back to work and advising and making recommendations in
relation to capability and ill health terminations

  • Carry out or contribute to change projects, e.g. company restructures, TUPE

What you'll need:


  • Good standard of general education. Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable but not essential
  • Qualified to graduate level of CIPD qualification or equivalent (Essential)
  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor role in comparable sector
  • Experience of working within an organisation that recognises Trade Unions and Staff Forums
  • Can demonstrate employment law knowledge and legislative requirements
  • Experience of providing Line Managers with HR statistical information and able to gather and analyse facts as well as advice and guidance on employment law issues
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to influence key stake holders
  • Able to demonstrate a customer focus approach whilst also having a commercial approach
  • Approachable and reliable with a proven track record in delivering results and continuous improvements in processes and procedures
  • Holds a full clean driving licence
  • Able to travel as per role requirements and if necessary work flexibly with occasional nights away from home
