Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Environment & Sustainability Leader to join the business on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive change and influence strategic solutions, ensuring alignment with client environmental and sustainability goals whilst overseeing and leading a team of Environment & Sustainability, Graduates, Managers & Co-ordinators.

Divisional Environment & Sustainability Manager - £70,000 - £80,000 + £6,000

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, clients, and partners to deliver Zero Carbon Solutions, Nature Based Solutions, and industry best practices.
  • Act as the primary environmental authority for our highways operations, ensuring compliance and technical competence.
  • Provide expertise on environmental management principles, impact assessment, and reduction strategies.
  • Lead initiatives to achieve circular economy outcomes, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance biodiversity net gain.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 certification and achieve PAS 2080 Carbon Management verification.
  • Participate in industry associations and advocate for best practices and innovation.
  • Monitor environmental performance, analyze data, and provide recommendations for continual improvement.
  • Provide leadership in environmental and sustainability training and development.
  • Manage a team of managers and graduates, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:


  • Proven track record of achievement within environmental management and sustainability.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and relevant legislation.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Environment, Sustainability, or Engineering.
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CENV) designation preferred.
  • Managerial membership of IEMA or equivalent professional organization. ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Experience with PAS 2080 Carbon Management is advantageous.
