Main duties of the job:
Planning and implementing care for both adult and paediatric patients undergoing anaesthesia and surgery.
Checking and preparing of anaesthesia equipment including anaesthesia machines, infusion pumps, cell salvage equipment and rapid infusion equipment. Preparing equipment for airway management, intravenous infusion, normothermia maintenance and DVT prophylaxis
Assisting with induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia including management of the difficult airway, and planning and assisting with the safe positioning of patients for surgery.

Person specification:
Experience:
Essential criteria:
- ODP/RN with recognised Anaesthetic qualification Significant experience in anaesthetic practice (at Band 5 or above)
- Minimum 3 years experience in anaesthetic practice (at Band 5 or above)
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in managing junior staff (HCA/ students) including appraisal, performance, absence, selection and recruitment
- Mentorship/Practice Supervision qualification
- Leadership Qualification
