    Offshore Energies UK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore energy industry, a not-for-profit membership organisation with a history stretching back five decades.

    Our membership includes over 400 organisations with an interest in offshore energy with our focus on oil, gas, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, and wind.

    From operators to the supply chain and across the lifecycle from production to decommissioning, they are safely providing cleaner fuel, power, and products to the UK.

    Working together with our members, we are a driving force supporting the UK in ensuring security of energy supply while helping to meet its net zero ambitions.

    We work on behalf of the sector and our members to inform understanding with facts, evidence, and data, engage on a range of key issues and support the broader value of this industry in a changing energy landscape.

    To support our advocacy and engagement with stakeholders on key areas connected to existing Offshore Energies UK and member energy operations we are looking for a public affairs professional to join our external affairs team as a Government Relations Adviser .

    At a critical time for policy making in UK as we approach a General Election with energy policy at the centre of political debate, this is an exciting opportunity to join a high pace environment working with policy makers and industry.

    Employ appropriate tactics for effective, regular engagement, both written and oral, to raise awareness of OEUK's policy positions and strengthen its reputation with key policy makers, decision-makers, and other external stakeholders.

    Create high quality, accurate content for briefing materials, consultation responses, policy position papers, and other written or oral communications to support the delivery of OEUK policy positions.

    Monitor the political environment in Scottish, UK, and other relevant parliaments, identifying and evaluating opportunities and risk, to provide timely intelligence to relevant internal staff and coordinate informed responses.

    Coordinate formal consultations and responses to stakeholder inquiries, policy launches, reports, and other relevant issues of a political nature.

    Analysis of energy and fiscal based policy and legislation relating to the offshore energy sector.
    Travel across the UK for meetings with key stakeholders.
    Champion quality and demonstrate leadership through personal high standards of quality and service.
    Key account management
    A degree in politics, communications, journalism, law, public relations, social policy, or equivalent experience in these areas
    Experience working for UK government departments, think tanks, or political organisations is advantageous.
    Sound knowledge of the workings of government and parliamentary procedure, and good political nous
    Ability to present complex information in a way that is straight forward to understand, whether in writing.
    Experience of writing high quality copy and content to meet deadlines.
    Collaborator with a positive attitude and flexible approach
    A good knowledge or awareness of energy issues in general and the offshore energy sector in particular
    A creative mind partnered with the ability to find practical solutions.
