Join our team as a legal adviser in our Legal and Governance Group, supporting our Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) trading business in the UK and EMEA regions, with a broad coverage of transactional, advisory and regulatory matters, and general projectwork.

Your role as a trusted legal adviser with a specialised knowledge of derivatives and applicable regulations, will be instrumental in helping to drive new business opportunities forward and the development of strategies across CGM.


Your focus will be on the following areas:

  • management of CGM OTC trading lifecycle from onboarding to continual trading support
- supervision and support of outsourced master documentation
- input into regulatory matters including but not limited to licensing and margining
- general project work, including new product approvals/ jurisdiction reviews and remediation
- collaborating with a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders, including business, legal, compliance, credit risk, internal audit, financial crime, treasury, and operations teams, in each case, across EMEA, Australia, Asia and the US, and
- supporting the CGM business with regulatory requirements.

To be considered for this position, you should have at least 2 years' buy or sell side inhouse experience in a documentation or counsel role or be a lawyer with financial services experience across financing and/or derivatives

- strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
- being pro-active in a challenging business environment and responding to client demands in a timely manner, with the creativity to help to find commercial solutions,
- being collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work successfully with a diverse range of stakeholders;
- understanding the relevant regulatory and legal context in all matters.
