    Description

    What you'll be doing

    as the London Recycling Project Development Manager
  • Set project requirements, policies, strategies, standards, specifications, design principles, milestones and budgets, then ensure compliance, or where necessary, seek changes or derogations to deliver value for money to customers.
  • Ensuring the right outputs are delivered by the technical teams to support the needs of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and procurement processes. That will include owning the design maturity plan.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Regulators Alliance for Infrastructure Development (RAPID) Gateway submissions.
  • Own the project baseline (including, scope book, control schedule, cost estimate and risk assessment) for London Recycling, and be responsible for ensuring it is updated and change controlled by the needs of the project.
  • You will be the primary liaison point between the project Sponsors, the SRO team and the Technical Partners (external consultants, currently in procurement), ensuring effective communications and alignment of objectives.
  • You will be expected to become an expert on the London Recycling project and be able to represent the project in front of internal and external stakeholders, being an active participant in community engagement in particular.
  • You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Technical Partners, acting as the Service Manager in the NEC4 contract, being responsible for agreeing scope and ensuring Technical Partner performance.
  • This is a full-time hybrid role and can be based out of our offices in South London or Head Office in Reading.
  • What you should bring to the role

  • Educated to degree level and be an established, motivated and credible leader with the energy to deliver within a matrix delivery environment.
  • Previous experience in a role as a project sponsor, project manager, design manager or development manager of a similar major project.
  • Have an understanding and interpretation of the development and delivery of Sponsor Requirements.
  • The ability to influence a large number of stakeholders, often with competing objectives, whilst preserving and maintaining excellent, collaborative relationships is a critical part of this role.
  • Be commercially astute and have excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills both written and verbal.
  • High-level IT and Project management skills, and ability to multi-task and work flexibly to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrate resilience and the ability to implement and adapt to change, creating an environment that helps people to change.

  • Competitive salary circa £92,000.
  • 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
