    The Salvation Army forms part of the Christian church and boasts an extensive social remit, providing a range of social and community services, including services for children and the elderly, those trapped in modern-day slavery, homeless people, individuals struggling with addiction, and people seeking employment.

    Key Responsibilities: The General Assistant Cleaning post undertakes the duties which ensure the Service is cleaned to a high standard and meets health & safety regulations and legislation. The role holder will interact with clients and should work in a professional and caring manner whilst respecting the diversity of clients. Duties include but are not limited to - litter picking inside and outside the building, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, showers, stairs, bedrooms and communal rooms.

    The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Cleaning and domestic environment experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to plan a routine and manage own workload
  • Ability to safely operate equipment relevant to the role
  • Co-operative, reliable and conscientious
  • Ability to keep written records
  • Ability to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army
