- Hardware product design, including design for manufacture (DFM), design for Assembly (DFA), EMC, usability and maintainability.
- Produce Mechanical & Electro-Mechanical designs that meet defined requirements.
- Support early product development through to New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Work with the wider team to achieve necessary product compliance certification.
- When required, support root cause analysis on issues with existing products.
- Contribute to peer review processes within the team.
- Support the turnaround of engineering changes into manufacturing.
- Proven experience in 3D CAD modelling and drawing creation (Siemens NX preferred).
- Creating detailed component and assembly drawings, demonstrating a basic understanding of BS 8888.
- Machining and sheet metal processes.
- Electronics packaging (mounting PCB, connectors, harnesses into enclosures etc).
- Understanding of finite element analysis (FEA).
- Effects of shock and vibration.
- Environmental sealing and EMC protection
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or similar engineering discipline) and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
