Overview:
The Commercial Real Estate Team has teams in London, Oxford, Guildford, Cambridge and Birmingham.
This is an exciting time to be joining our team as we expand across all offices and enhance our existing reputation for delivering high quality legal service and this role will primarily support those members of the team who are based in our Oxford and Birmingham offices.
The opportunity to work with the wider CRE team will however be available from day one.
The CRE team advise on large scale developments, commercial real estate investment transactions (including portfolio acquisitions and disposals and forward fundings), asset management, commercial leases, property finance and real estate support for corporate transactions.
The team's clients include a number of high profile institutional investors, private property companies, private equity clients and large scale developers, all of whom are active in the commercial, residential, mixed use development, industrial, office, social care and hotel investment sectors.
You will enjoy a challenging and varied caseload as well as excellent progression opportunities. The team is assisted by outstanding knowledge lawyers and dedicated support staff.Responsibilities:
- Have day to day conduct of complex and high value matters and manage your own caseload with access to approachable supervisors and peers
- Assist with development of juniors and provide drafting and matter management support to the existing CRE team
- Supervise the collation, review and supply of client and third party documents including data site and due diligence management
- Participate in regular update calls and meetings with key clients and have direct contact with those clients
- Active participation in business development initiatives
- Participation in firm wide and CRE team specific training sessions
Essential & Desirable Criteria:
- Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and familiarity of IT/automated systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail is required
- Enjoy working as part of a larger team on complex projects.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to develop strong relationships with peers, clients and other professionals in the real estate sector
- A professional approach to work to ensure deadlines are met
- The ability to support the team's work and a desire to gain experience and develop new skills
- To be able to keep calm under pressure. To work well on a wide range of tasks simultaneously and be able to organise work accordingly
