Seven Social Care is looking for a Independent Reviewing Officer in StokeThe role:
To perform the roles and responsibilities of the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) as outlined in the Children and Young Person's Act (2008), IRO Handbook and Care Planning Regulations (2010 and 2015) and Fostering (Miscellaneous Amendments) (England)Regulations and the Adoption Act 2002.
Key Responsibilities:
To act for the children they review as a conscientious and responsible corporate parent would act.
Performance
To monitor the performance of Stoke on Trent on an ongoing basis in relation to their response to children in care and ensure any issues are escalated appropriately.
To quality assure every care plan following each review meeting and consider that all appropriate options have been considered to meet the child's identified needs ( type of placement, location of placement etc., including specific additional resources).IROs must focus on children's needs being met but cannot be unaware of resource/ cost implications.
To ensure that the child's legal status is appropriate and to prevent any breach of a child's human rights in all aspect of care planning.
