Job Description We are recruiting for a Trainee Health & Safety Consultant , to join our growing Health & Safety team, based in The Midlands.
The main responsibility of a Health & Safety Consultant is to plan and execute a variety of health & safety tasks, including audits, inspections, health and safety gap analysis reports, risk assessments and method statements, for our clients across the Midlands.
As part of this role we will support you to develop from a Level 3 Qualification to a Level 6 Qualification, after successfully completing your probation period.
Visit clients and undertake full health and safety audits and inspections.
Manage own diary, keeping in regular contact with clients, answering health and safety related queries.
Produce health and safety gap analysis reports, identifying areas where improvements are required and advising the client on improvement options moving forward.
Review the production of policies, risk assessments and method statements. (Support the client with other safety related systems and processes, such as Incident investigation, RIDDOR advice, COSHH documentation and management, workplace transport, asbestos management, as examplesAct as the key point of contact (competent person) for the client on any health and safety related matters.
Assist clients with the management and attainment of industry accreditations, such as CHAS, Safe Contractor or Construction Line.
Full clean UK driving license - client base is predominately within the West and East Midlands.
High standard of report and document writing skills.
Good commercial awareness.
Ability to research and apply advice, based upon the clients' legal duties.
Work experience one or all of the following sectors would be advantageous -Level 3 Health and Safety qualification is essential.
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.

The successful candidate will be provided with mentoring and access to team support, to attain the experience and skills required to achieve NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice.
Salary:
Competitive depending upon experience
Hours: 35 hours Monday - Friday
