    Beauty Works retails luxury hair solutions, including ready to wear clip-ins, semipermanent professional extensions and exclusive collaborations. Our hair extensions, aftercare products and electrical stylers have earned recognition amongst the beauty press and up and down the red carpet. Beauty Works operates internationally to both to salon professional and directly to consumers and is owned by Beauty Industry Group (BIG) based in Salt Lake City and has the largest share of the hair extensions market in the world.

    Beauty Works structure is evolving into a HUB operation for Europe; supporting Brands within BIG, based in Europe. This role will be integral in supporting the management of a teams across Sales, Marketing and Customer Services, who will commence working in a multi brand environment.

    Job Summary

    The main purpose of a Commercial Director role is to manage the Company's product and service life-cycles, and lead the sales, marketing and customer-facing teams, to deliver company growth through increased revenues and profitability; leading to an even more extensive impact on the market that is consistent with Beauty Industry Group's mission and values.

    As Commercial Director the role will be involved in developing, planning and implementing strategies that align with business goals to promote and accelerate growth. Conducting market research and analysis to inform business plans on commercial opportunities and understand future threats. With an entrepreneurial mindset the role will work closely with the Senior Management team to collaborate, coach and lead to monitor progress and performance.

    Role Outline

    • Ensure Beauty Works/HUB has an effective team and leadership structure across Sales & Marketing, Product and Service functions.
    • Build global connections for commercial leaders to encourage sharing of best practices, alignment of platform/standards/processes.
    • Take a lead on translating global strategy to European and regional execution; for commercial efforts across all sales channels.
    • Through effective line management and support of the Sales and Marketing leadership, to ensure all strategic sales and marketing objectives for the company are achieved, delivering on the profit and loss targets of the Company/Group; working in close consultation with the Finance Director especially when it comes to controlling costs.
    • Collaborate with USA brand leaders to support strategic plans for UK/EU market entry.
    • In partnership with the Finance Director, produce internal reporting of monthly sales and marketing performance.
    • In conjunction with the Products and Customer Service leadership, monitor product and service development and delivery and report against the plan.
    • Prepare and deliver reports to Beauty Industry Group's strategy board meetings and contribute to the board decision making.
    • Support and integrate specific brands into the UK infrastructure in 2024/2025
    • Support the executive board with ideas for investments, acquisitions or divestments, and become involved in the activity required to see these through.
    • Prioritise project management including, integration of hub and establishing ways of working with global teams. Collaboration with global functional teams will be crucial to accelerate value creation agenda.
    • Ensure the continuing professional development of the Senior Leadership Team and HUB Management Team.
    • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of the commercial activity and objectives, and in conjunction with the other Directors explore ways all functions can operate more effectively and efficiently together.
    • Continually perform market research and analyse threats and opportunities.
    • Understand the requirements of existing customers.

    Key Skills

    • Previous working experience in a retail/sales environment, UK & EU; minimum 10 years
    • Proven Experience in managing portfolio of brands, in both salon and DTC (if possible)
    • Solid understanding of all relevant channels (ecommerce, direct sales, distribution/wholesale, retail)
    • Beneficial to have worked in a matrix/global organization.
    • Beauty or Hair Brand experience preferred.
    • Experience in Client Relationship Management
    • In-depth knowledge of market analysis and metrics
    • Hands on experience in creating reporting and managing budgets
