Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) opportunity is available now at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKH) in Cranbrook, B.C. This is a relief part-time position assigned to the Core Lab department. Days of work are rotating and shifts are days, evenings and nights.

About the job:

MLTs work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within the assigned discipline department


Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
• Entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
• Validating and reporting test results
• Maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents
• Contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs

About this location:

EKH is a 75 bed acute care hospital with a medium size Laboratory offering Core Lab, Microbiology, Histology and Pathology.

It is considered a regional referral site for selected testing and there are a cohesive team of Medical Technologists and Med Lab Assistants employed in various disciplines.

Cranbrook is situated in the sunny southeastern corner of British Columbia.

The city is considered to be the business capital and largest hub in the Rocky Mountain Region, which is also an easy drive to Calgary and the US.
