    Overview of the role

    Tokamak Energy are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join the Procurement and Supply Chain team in a fast paced, agile R&D/engineering environment. The role requires the holder to work across the business on both Direct and Indirect spend ensuring delivery, appropriate quality, and value are achieved. The role holder will need to establish close relationships with key stakeholders to understand the business requirements. This will include collaboration with technical teams and budget holders to ensure budget is appropriately spent. The role will be the procurement of both goods and services across an exciting technology development area.

    In this role, you will be{{:}}

    • Owning assigned Procurement requirements for the specific projects from initial demand through to delivery
    • Supporting the Procurement Managers to establish and then promote sourcing strategies
    • Managing the placing and chasing or Purchase orders, with regular communication of progress to the project teams
    • Proactively owning and running of supplier performance reviews with maintaining accurate system data
    • Dealing with supplier issues, with regards to delivery, quality, and invoice queries
    • Completing RFQ/RFP exercises, where expected spend and timelines allow
    • Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
    • Securing suitable technical suppliers in terms of delivery, quality, and value
    • Proactively review supplier spend portfolio to seek future development opportunities
    • Supporting the wider Procurement Team to implement new Procurement systems and processes.
    • Work on business requirements across the procurement team as the company requires.

    • CIPS qualified or working towards

    Desirable

    • Experience of working in a procurement role in an engineering environment
    • Familiar with Business Central/ Navision inventory systems

    Please note this role does offer hybrid working, our model sets out a minimum 60% onsite / 40% home working split
