Description

The Research and Development Management Assistant is a varied administrative role which supports the Research and Development (R&D) team, based in the city centre.

You will be the first point of contact for people contacting the R&D department, and will direct them to the right place for advice and information.

You will provide diary management, committee and administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director of Research & Development and to the senior management team, and will support other team members to deliver an efficient R&D service.

You willmanage specific projects,support departmental reporting and manage the R&D office space and equipment.

You will bea link between R&D, our research teams and the communications team to help publicise and promote the research we do in our hospitals, and you will help organise and support training courses and events for our staff.

We are looking for a someone who has a good eye for detail, enjoys working and communicating with people and has experience of working in a busy administrative role.


You will support several staff, organising diaries, carrying out administrative tasks which can be detailed and complex and require an excellent eye for detail.

This includes setting up meetings for large groups of people with busy diaries, running reports, compiling and issuing meetings papers, writing to a range of staff across the trust to convey information about research topics and maintaining our electronic filing systems.


You will make links with staff at all levels, including with researchers and research teams in all of our hospitals and externally.

You will work with them to help raise the profile of research by collecting information and good news stories and compiling newsletters and updating our website and information in public spaces.


You will support us in organising training and meetings which will be attended by staff from UHBW and from our partner organisations like the University of Bristol, North Bristol Trust and the University of the West of England.

These may be in person or on-line.

You will support the senior managers in overseeing sickness absence, essential training and recruitment processes.
