    Portfolio Energy Manager

    Location: Gloucestershire

    Package: £60k - £80k + Package

    The Organisation

    Our client is the newly formed power business of a highly successful national property group. The portfolio consists of over 3.5 million square feet of tenanted warehousing across England.

    The Group has an exceptionally strong balance sheet and have identified the power business as a major focus for investment and growth.

    The Role

    Reporting directly into the Group CEO this is a varied role with latitude for an ambitious and talented individual to carve out a future senior leadership role.

    We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Energy professional to join our team. As a Portfolio Energy Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the energy procurement, monitoring of renewable energy assets, carbon reporting, and smart metering activities across the large portfolio of commercial properties. Your primary goal will be to maximise energy procurement savings, optimize the existing renewable energy assets, reduce carbon emissions, and ensure compliance with energy-related regulations for the portfolio.

    In addition to this you will help identify and project manage further portfolio roll outs such as further renewable energy assets, smart metering and EV Charging that deliver commercial benefits to the group and tenants.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Energy Procurement:

    · Develop and implement effective strategies for procuring energy from renewable sources across our portfolio.

    · Monitor energy markets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate favourable contracts with energy suppliers for multiple properties.

    · Ensure timely and efficient energy procurement to meet the energy needs of each property within the portfolio.

    2. Project Management

    · Project management of the roll out of all Renewable Energy and Carbon Reduction technologies across the portfolio

    · Management of external contractors and ensuring contractual requirements are met

    3. Customer Management

    · Overseeing all customer billing - ensuring tenants & customers receive accurate & clear billing information.

    · Oversee invoicing and payment management.

    · Ensure communication with tenants and customers is clear around billing

    4. Renewable Energy Asset Monitoring:

    · Manage and monitor renewable energy assets, such as solar pv, battery storage systems etc across the portfolio.

    · Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of renewable energy systems.

    · Analyze energy production data from each property and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

    5. Carbon Reporting:

    · Collect, analyze, and report carbon emissions data for each property within the portfolio, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

    · Develop and implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions across the portfolio and improve overall sustainability.

    · Stay updated on emerging carbon reporting standards and ensure adherence to industry best practices.

    6. Smart Metering:

    · Oversee the installation and maintenance of smart metering systems across the portfolio.

    · Monitor and analyze energy consumption data from each property to identify patterns and opportunities for energy efficiency.

    · Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives based on smart metering data for multiple properties.

    7. Energy Efficiency:

    · Identify energy efficiency opportunities across the portfolio and develop strategies to reduce energy consumption for each property.

    · Collaborate with stakeholders at each property to implement energy-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.

    · Educate property managers and occupants on energy-saving practices and promote a culture of sustainability.

    Requirements:

    · Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Energy Management, Environmental Science, or Engineering.

    · Proven experience in energy procurement, renewable energy, carbon reporting, and smart metering across a diverse portfolio.

    · In-depth knowledge of energy procurement strategies, renewable energy technologies, and carbon reporting regulations.

    · Familiarity with smart metering systems and data analysis tools.

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    · Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    · Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies.
