    1x Permanent and 1x Fixed Term Role - Full Time 37.5 hpw

    Based from our Newcastle upon Tyne office 2 days per week and home working the remainder

    Salary circa £40,000 pa and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

As a Governance Business Partner at Home Group, you'll play a key role in supporting our Governance and Risk team to enhance our governance framework. Your focus will be on managing committee and board processes effectively, ensuring meetings are efficient and impactful. You'll also maintain key registers, support policy development, and ensure compliance across our strategic decision-making processes.     Typical day as a Governance Business Partner

  • Coordinate and manage the agendas for our Board, committees, and executive meetings, focusing on strategic priorities and ensuring all relevant issues are addressed.
  • Take accurate minutes during these meetings, ensuring they capture the essence of discussions and decisions.
  • Ensure the distribution, agreement, and secure storage of meeting minutes in compliance with our governance protocols.
  • Assist in the preparation of board papers, ensuring they are comprehensive and delivered in a timely manner to all relevant parties.
  • Act as a primary liaison between executives, board members, and committee chairs, fostering strong and effective relationships.
  • Oversee the compliance activities related to governance, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are met with precision.

    You bring

  • Proven experience in managing and coordinating agendas for high-level meetings, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to grasp and focus on critical issues.
  • Expertise in minute-taking, with a capability to accurately record discussions and resolutions during complex meetings.
  • Skills in efficiently distributing and archiving governance documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with legal standards.
  • Strong organisational skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all governance activities are executed flawlessly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders across various levels.
  • A proactive approach to governance, with a readiness to anticipate changes in regulations and ensure all governance practices are up-to-date and effective.
  • Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.
