    Job Description Investment Manager, Harrogate

    McInroy & Wood is a leading independent private client investment manager with a successful track record of investing directly across developed and emerging markets for over 38 years.

    MW is headquartered in Haddington, East Lothian, where the majority of its staff are based, with integrated teams in London and Harrogate.

    The firm is looking to recruit an experienced professional for the Harrogate team to underpin its long-term growth plans.

    MW offers a well-developed training programme for professionals looking to move from another professional services field to the investment management sector.

    The role offers the opportunity to play a leading part in developing the business under an ambitious medium-term plan in collaboration with the existing Harrogate and London-based teams, which currently consist of nine investment managers and administrative support.

    Contribute to investment policy decisions at Investment Policy Committee meetings, and working alongside the firm's analysts and other investment managers to identify, evaluate and monitor a concentrated preferred list of global equities.

    Assisting with a variety of company projects and initiatives.

    As investment manager you will assume wide ranging investment management and client relationship responsibilities delivering an ambitious growth plan as an integral member of a small but dynamic and well-respected firm.

    The role is full-time and will be based out of our Harrogate office, working closely with the existing Investment Director based there.

    The role will involve regular travel around the North of England and to the Haddington and London offices for meetings with colleagues, clients, investee companies, and for business development activities.

    Candidates will have a minimum of 8-years of financial services experience and be expected to hold or obtain the Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM) or equivalent Ofqual Level 6 (or higher) qualification (e.g., CFA).

    An understanding of financial analysis and global markets, and an appreciation of global politics and macroeconomics, is required.
