    OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
    This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our operations team as a Catering / Kitchen Assistant. In this role you will help to deliver the catering provision at our central London international school, assisting with service times for breakfast, lunch and dinner for our international students and staff. The teams provide catering throughout the day but last service is at 7pm, so there are no late shifts, and weekends are on rotation contributing to a better work/life balance supported by our fantastic benefits we have to offer.

    This would suit someone looking to get into the catering sector or an experienced catering / kitchen assistant looking for a new challenge with better work life balance in a supported and varied environment.

    You will be required to work 3 days per week (Weds-Fri) and 1 weekend per month, working a total of 21 hrs per week.

    Main duties for the Kitchen Assistant will include:
    - Day to day cleaning of canteen and kitchen to a high standard.
    - Assisting chef on food preparation.
    - Front of house service.
    - Assist with deliveries to ensure they are put away correctly.
    - Assist with making of sandwiches and baguettes for the coffee bar.
    - Salad preparation.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
    - Maintain the high level of hygiene standards throughout the catering establishment
    - Fridge & freezer temperatures to be recorded
    - Food temperatures to be recorded from kitchen as well as on the hot plate
    - Open & closing checks to be done daily and signed off by Chefs
    - All staff to be wearing correct uniforms at all times
    - All uniforms are clean on and ironed
    - All staff required to use correct tools at all times
    - All food to be produced to a high standard and to the correct temperature
    - All food to be garnished on hot plate
    - All chemicals to be stored away in locked cabinet except daily spray bottles
    - Minimum of ten items to be on the salad bar including one of each of the following: meat, fish, cheese, or egg item
    - All accidents to be logged as they happen in the SFBB manual
    - Report all issues in the day to day running of the kitchen to the Head Chef

    You will also be required to undertake additional duties during our busy Summer School period. These additional duties will be notified to you prior to the commencement of the Summer School.
