    Come and join us as a Plant Manager at our Kingsbury site in Tamworth.

Wienerberger are the world's largest producer of bricks and are No. 1 on the clay roof tiles market in Europe. Boasting 204 plants across 30 countries, our presence in the UK is currently larger than at any point in our 200 year history, employing c.1,300 people across our Head Office, 4 showrooms, 13 manufacturing sites and 6 distribution centres, and a further c.700 people across our 1 office and 3 manufacturing sites within BPD and FloPlast. We manufacture in excess of 400 products including bricks, roof tiles, construction membranes and piping solutions for the homebuilding, renovation and built environment markets, supported by our commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.

    Our Role

    A fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and proactive senior leadership team at our Kingsbury site in Tamworth, Staffordshire where the focus is on driving continuous improvement and developing its people in a safe environment.You will lead by example with strong and effective leadership whilst setting the highest standards in health, safety and environment, production, quality, reliability, maintenance and people performance.

    Key Objectives and Responsibilities

    ·Drive a positive and compliant health, safety & environmental culture and provide a consistent leadership style that promotes the highest standards and has safety as the top priority, teamwork, open communication and a 'can-do' attitude.

    ·Contribute to the creation and implementation of a best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, processes and procedures to drive operational performance

    ·Lead by example providing strong and effective leadership in managing plant operations and setting the highest standards in terms of H&S, production, quality, reliability and maintenance and people performance

    ·Drive and adhere to health, safety and environmental working practices in accordance with Wienerberger policies and procedures and legal compliance requirements

    ·Ensure effective manufacturing operations which produce target volumes, yield and efficiency and delivers high customer service and cost control

    ·Drive lean and world class manufacturing (WCM) methodologies and a culture of continuous improvement, especially 5S, across all parts of the site

    ·Manage the overall operational activity of the site and take direct responsibility for site wide issues

    ·Ensure high levels of customer service through delivery of production targets and quality standards

    ·Ensure an optimum level of working capital within business targets but which ensures suitable and sufficient inventory to service the markets

    ·Focus on plant reliability & AM/PM maintenance and ensure the CMMS ('Agility') and other PPM schedules are adhered to

    ·Financial accountability; setting budgets and capital requirements and strong cost management within budget and forecast constraints

    ·Ensure legal compliance of all activities at your site including PPC and environmental emissions, H&S requirements (PUWER, LOLA, HASAWA, RA's, etc)

    ·Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports ensuring that everyone on site understands the standards and behaviours expected of them

    ·Drive change; people, plant and processes

    ·Support product development

    ·Deliver year on year cost improvement

    ·Developing a longer-term vision for the plant to ensure it meets its full long-term potential

    Skills & Experience

    ·Degree qualified; ideally in engineering, ceramics, operations or business management

    ·Min. 5 years senior production management experience in a world class manufacturing environment

    ·Exceptional Health & Safety awareness and NEBOSH Certificate (or IOSH qualification)

    ·Strong managerial, organisational, planning and leadership skills, especially managing change and

    coaching others

    Ability to produce, analyse and review detailed numerical data and make clear, sound decisions

    ·Working knowledge of CMMS/PPM systems and understands maintenance and plant reliability

    ·Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques; Green/Black Belt Six Sigma is desirable

    ·Good project management skills

    ·Excellent communication & negotiation skills

    ·Excellent and proven analytical & problem-solving skills (including FMEA, RCA, DMAIC, 5Y's, etc)

    ·Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines

    ·Flexibility for occasional travel

    Hours of Work: 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
