    This post is within the Glasgow and Partners Emergency Social Work Service which covers Glasgow and the five other Local Authorities within the Greater Glasgow & Clyde Board area.

    This is a contractual arrangement with Glasgow being the lead authority.

    This is a generic statutory Social Work service covering all aspects of adult and child care including Adult Support and Protection, Mental Health Officer work and Child Protection.

    The service runs days per year between the hours of 4.45pm and 9am weekdays and weekends, 3.55pm on a Friday until 9am on a Monday as well as all public holidays for the six local authorities.

    The service also delivers homelessness services in the out of hours for Glasgow. The successful candidate will possess the drive and skill required to achieve excellent service practice standards and service delivery.

    In addition, a key requirement of the post is an ability to support, manage and develop staff as well as communicate effectively.

    Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills are essential, as well as demonstrating the ability to engage with other internal and external agencies at all levels.

    Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work (or Social Work equivalent) and be able to demonstrate commitment to Continuous Professional Development.

    These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order (as amended). Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Check.

    As Scottish Social Services Council registration is a statutory requirement for this post under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act , you must either be already registered or be registered within 6 months from the date you start in this post.

    Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
