Bookkeeper | £30K | North Glasgow

Your New Company


Based in the North of Glasgow this family run supplier has been operating in the UK for over 70 years.

They pride themselves in providing high-quality products for competitive prices.


Your New Role
The company are looking for someone to work within their small accounts team undertaking most general bookkeeping duties.

Below is a list of daily duties:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual Management Accounts for 3 entities
  • Reconciling the current account and USD and euro accounts
  • Making supplier, wage, salary and miscellaneous expenses payments
  • Liaising with our auditors during the year providing all necessary schedules & information for yearend audit
  • Revaluating currency accounts when needed
  • Preparing Intrastat returns monthly
  • Preparing VAT returns quarterly and setting up VAT payments, reconciling it with the amount outstanding in the Trial Balance
  • Posting credit card payments for euro transactions that have to be posted in GBP and completing intercurrency account transactions
  • Paying the PAYE & NI monthly after reconciling it to HMRC account, and checking tax codes are correct with auditors
  • Preparing reports informing directors of debtors, creditors, bank and stock levels weekly. Investigating any differences found on weekly stock valuation report
  • Negotiating with utility companies for gas, electricity and water contracts for the 3 depots
  • Maintaining fixed asset schedules for all assets for projections/audit/information for directors
