    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Management professional to come and work within the Capital Development Team, Estates & Facilities Division at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. The Team is delivering a substantial Estates Capital Programme mainly based around RAAC risk mitigation/refurbishment works and the new Hospital Programme which Leighton Hospital is now part of.

    Reporting to the Deputy Head of Capital Development, you will be responsible for the delivery of key projects within the Trust's Capital Programme by directly managing a team of Capital Project Managers. You will integrate with all sections of the Estates and Facilities Division and liaise with Trust staff and other project professionals. You will also be expected to Deputise for the Deputy Head of Capital Development as required.

    If you are an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager from a construction, MEP or Quantity Surveying background, who has experience in managing a team, enjoys a challenge, can demonstrate design, construction and strategic management experience, and are looking for a varied and fulfilling role, then we are looking for you to join us.

    Further to the job description, the core task for this particular role is project management within construction capital projects. We would encourage high calibre Project Managers with experience within construction, MEP or those from a Quantity Surveying background. You will work both on individual projects and as part of an in house design and project team.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Degree in architecture, surveying, MEP or construction project management
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of managing construction projects in a consultancy role
  • Projects undertaken in a live environment
  • Experience of managing projects from feasibility to occupation
  • Experience of managing the design construction processes, statutory approvals, risk management and stakeholder management
  • Desirable

  • Experience of working on healthcare projects ideally within the NHS
  • Skills & Knowledge

    Essential

  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of construction methodology / frequently used construction techniques
  • Demonstrate an understanding of suitable risk and value management strategies and tools
  • Demonstrate an understanding of HTMs and HBNs and how these are utilised in healthcare building design
  • Desirable

  • Ability to utilise design and/or planning software packages AutoCad, Revit, Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project etc.
