    Whatwill you be doing?

    Negotiateand manage access contracts with rail infrastructure providers on terms whichreflect DB Cargo UK's contractual commitments and operational requirements.

    Develop andperiodically review company-specific template access contracts in light ofrevised legislation and DBC UK's policy.

    Administeran efficient system which enables Network Change and other consultation such asAccess Rights applications by other train operators to be registered, consultedinternally and responded to in accordance with laid down timescales.

    Manage thesubmission of all DB Cargo UK's Network Change proposals to Network Railensuring they are internally consistent.

    Influencing/shapingproposals to future proof the network and ensure it meets DB Cargo's long termaspirations. You will be responsible for leading any response with input fromDB Cargo's Production colleagues.

    Scrutiniseand respond to scheme plans either at Network Change or where draft proposalsare discussed.

    Ensureappropriate contracts are in place in relation to the connection of adjoiningrail infrastructure to DBC UK infrastructure.

    Review andmaintain DBC UK's License/License Exemption obligations to ensure continuedcompliance with regulatory requirements.

    Provideinput to DBC UK's responses to consultations on proposed new or revisedindustry template access contracts and processes.

    Compile andmonitor the regulated access trading budget (expenditure only) to reflect theterms agreed with infrastructure and other relevant providers.

    Who arewe looking for?

    You will bean experienced rail freight professional with extensive knowledge of the UKrail network. Have relevant knowledge of legislation and regulations, industrycodes and practices relating to access and licensing.

    You will bea confident communicator, both orally and in writing. Comfortable presentingcomplex information to customers (internally and externally at all levels) andindustry stakeholders.

    You will bemeticulous with regards to detail and data input and be confident in theintegrity of what you are advising on. Comfortable to an advanced level onMicrosoft packages including excel.

    This is avaried position and will require good organisational skills to meet the demandsof managing regular deadlines as well as adhoc/short turnaround requests

    IntroductionDB Cargo UKis currently recruiting for an Access & Rail Network Advisor to join ourLegal and Regulatory Affairs department based at our Head office in Doncaster,South Yorkshire This is apermanent position on a 37 hour a week contract Monday – Friday. You will beresponsible for ensuring DB Cargo UK's interests in access arrangements withrail infrastructure providers are protected and in compliance with theregulatory requirements of the Railways Act 1993 as well as other relevantlegislation. You willensure DB Cargo UK engages with Network Rail and other stakeholders concerningrenewal and enhancement of the network. This will include providing formalresponses to Network Change proposals. This is astandalone role within our Legal and Regulatory Affairs team responsible forproviding guidance and advice to a wide variety of stakeholders includinginternal, external and regulatory bodies.
