An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy marketing and events function in a leading independent school in the heart of Harrogate.

The position is suited to a person who thrives in an environment where no two days are the same.


You will be the kind of person who is passionate about communicating, marketing and above all you will be highly organised and able to multi-task as this is a busy administrative role.

You will enjoy ensuring events run smoothly and working behind the scenes, including preparing materials and information.

If you are interested in working in lively surroundings with children aged 2-18 then this could be the new role for you.


This is a customer-facing role with prospective pupils and parents and so you should be well presented, positive and responsive.

In addition, you should have an excellent attention to detail with strong IT skills and experience of working with databases.


The hours of the role are from either: 8.00am until 5.00pm or 8.30am until 5.30pm, Mondays to Fridays, with some evening or weekend working when Marketing events take place.

Experience of a marketing and/or events role would be desirable but not essential.


EVENTS

COMMUNICATIONS' STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION

  • External Communication
  • Support the External Relations Manager in the implementation of a program of communication targeted at parents, prospective parents, international agents, feeder schools and key external stakeholders in order to generate recruitment enquiries and secure pupil retention. Duties include running data; checking / tidying data and sending communications to target audiences.
  • Web
  • Ensure that agreed content on the HLC website is updated and maintained in a timely manner. Compile regular news items for each school from enewsletter content.


  • Collateral and Merchandise

  • Manage stocks of promotional items and brochures ensuring that they are aligned to and meet the needs of the HLC Marketing plan. Liaison with suppliers to order collateral etc. when stocks are low.


  • Photography


  • Photography
of key events in school to support marketing and social and digital activity under the direction of the External Relations Manager or PR Manager.


SUPPORTING THE PR & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

  • Media clipping and logging.
  • Media monitoring of key stories.
  • Monitoring social media engagement and responding to messages/ enquiries.

SUPPORTING THE ALUMNI RELATIONS & DEVELOPMENT TEAM

  • Responding to Facebook requests to join the group and uploading the alumni database with new members.
  • Adding new events to the website, sending out event invitations online and postal.
  • Assisting with direct mailing campaigns printing, collation and posting.

SUPPORTING THE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AND MARKETING

  • Analysis
  • Analysis
of marketing and recruitment activities including press cuttings and SEO analysis against agreed keywords.

  • Database Administration
  • Maintain an accurate database of international agents, feeder schools and nurseries.


  • Financial Assistance

  • Maintain an accurate record of departmental expenditure, monitoring spend against the Marketing plan and working with the Finance Department to ensure timely payment of invoices.


We envisage that this role would suit an experienced administrator with an interest in, and experience of working in a fast-paced marketing environment.


Professional experience:


  • Experience of working in a busy office environment, managing multiple projects and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of organising and attending customer facing events
  • Previous experience of working in a marketing environment
  • Experience of meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Experience of managing budgets and analysing data
  • Excellent IT skills including databases, Excel and Word
  • Experience of dealing with suppliers and negotiating prices
  • Able to drive with own transport
  • Keen interest in photography desirable
