Description

To work as a member of the cardiac investigations team providing a clinical cardiac service in a safe and responsible manner under the direction of the cardiac physiologists.

To integrate within the larger multidisciplinary team for cardiology ensuring information is appropriately communicated when required within the remit of the job role.

12 Lead ECG (Electrocardiogram), Ambulatory ECG monitor fitting and removal, Blood Pressure Monitoring, ensuring accuracy is at the forefront of the work and escalating key indicators to supervisor.

Recognise waveforms and measurements of the normal and abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) and when to escalate to a senior physiologist.

To give the patients clear instructions and advice relating to the procedure, including but not limited to, the period of monitoring, care of the equipment, documenting of activity and symptoms throughout the monitoring period utilising patient diary arrangements.

Assess and monitor the patient condition during procedures ensuring any changes in line with the Deteriorating Patient Procedures are escalated immediately to the relevant senior staff member.
