Private hospital in Maidstone, Kent seeking a temp medical secretary 4 months +


Job Purpose:


To support the Hospital consultants with administration of their practice and to assist in building and developing their patient base.


Key Objectives of the Role

  • To act as the link between consultants, patients and Hospital
  • To provide an efficient administrative support for consultants
  • To be the main point of contact for patient queries and take ownership in resolving them
  • To actively see ways that consultants can develop their practice and work with the business development team to put them in place
  • To give feedback to other departments in the hospital where processes could be more efficient for secretaries and where the Hospital could be easier to do business with
  • Responsible for coordinating patient appointments within various clinics and theatres and sending relevant correspondence
  • Liaising with patients, consultants and other staff at the Hospital
  • Responding efficiently to all queries from patients, staff and other third parties
  • Use computer systems to register/obtain patient information
  • Responsible for all clinical correspondence and audio typing where necessary
  • Keeping records up to date and filing/scanning information for patient records
  • Corresponding with Medical Insurers, collating accurate billing information
  • Working within the Hospital in relevant departments to improve the booking and patient process
  • Assisting with all other duties within the medical secretarial as required on a daily basis

Essential

  • Previous experience as a
    Private Medical Secretary:
  • Highly organized and passionate to succeed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computerliterate
  • Ability to prioritize workload
- able to multitask, answering busy phone lines as well as coordinate Theatre bookings

  • Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and understand processes and take on board new information
  • Positive, 'can do' attitude
  • Can deal with patients in a compassionate and caring manner

Desirable

  • Orthopaedics and then cardiology
  • Medical Terminology course (AMSPAR) qualification

Qualifications and Training

Essential & Desirable

Knowledge of Orthopaedic, and or Cardiology would be beneficial

  • Good standard of secondary education at least 5 GCSE A-C grades or equivalent including maths and English Language.
Monday to Friday hours 9am - 5pm with 1/2-hour lunch break.

On-site free parking and subsides hot meals and snacks on site

£13 per hour
