JOB SUMMARY
The posts' primary purpose is to

  • Assist in the reconciliation of key control accounts.
  • Assist in providing support for the daytoday management of the Charitable fund function.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Trusts salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Provide support to the finance analyst in the monitoring and accounting of the Trusts PFI schemes.
  • Maintain records and transactions in relation to purchasing cards.
Ensure key deadlines, statutory requirements and key performance indicators are achieved.


COMMUNICATION


The post holder will be expected to form good working relationships with key stakeholders such as Internal Audit, ELFS, Committee members and budget holders in his / her roles in connection with supporting the Trust's Committee for Charitable Funds Committee and as such must be able to work with all levels of staff including non-executive directors and senior managers.

To engage with external stakeholders and bodies as required e.g., external audit.


TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Attend mandatory training as identified by the Trust.


Reporting to the finance analyst, the post holder will be expected to manage his/her own workload largely without supervision, so that relevant deadlines, timescales, and objectives are met.

Charitable Funds

Preparation of the charitable fund bank reconciliation, control accounts and charitable fund balances.

  • Assist in the day to day running and monthly processing requirements of the charity accounts.
  • Provide regular communication to fund holders detailing any charges, investment receipts and proposed consolidation of funds.
  • Assist in the completion of working papers for annual statutory accounts, ensuring the close down timetable is adhered to.
  • Compiling reports and reconciling transactions for the ELHT&Me charity hub.
  • Monthly staff lottery reconciliation.
Salary Sacrifice Schemes

  • Assist in the daytoday queries regarding the Trusts salary sacrifice schemes.
Private Finance Initiative (PFI)

  • Assist with the accounting aspects of the Trusts PFI schemes.
  • Monitor invoices and accruals and reconcile PFI schemes.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • To perform all necessary duties required for the timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts.
Other

  • Assist in ensuring that the purchasing cards log is kept up to date and expenditure records are received. Liaise with card holders and the bank to ensure credit limit is reasonable.
  • Assist as necessary in the financial monitoring process.
  • Assist in the review of expenditure from petty cash returns via general office.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to arrange stocktakes and complete relevant paperwork and financial transactions.
  • Continually seek to identify areas for improvement within Financial Accounts and propose procedures to facilitate this while understanding the impact of the section's work on other areas of the Finance department.
  • Any other duties that are required as necessary within the role/department.
