Job Purpose

  • Using your excellent relationship manager skills, experience and networks you will provide a premium Commercial Banking service that caters to the unique needs of Owner Managed Independent media businesses

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop and enhance relationships with a crosssection of Owner Managed Independent Media Businesses and KBIs founded on a comprehensive, knowledgeable and collaborative partnership approach.
  • Build a profitable portfolio of media commercial clients across a range of subsectors with a focus on deposit balances and risk free ancillary income. Successfully represent the Bank externally and internally, promoting awareness of the Arbuthnot brand and values across the business and professional community.
  • Work closely with Media Private Bankers to encourage internal networks and to maximise crossbusiness referrals, thus creating value for the bank and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • A self starter and driven individual, you will manage your own performance to exceed demanding business targets and ensure unwavering commitment to service excellence.
  • You will develop deep, long term and sustainable relationships as your Clients' strategic partner in the bank and act as a gateway to our other products and services.
  • Manage a portfolio of high value assets and liabilities (including the management of a loan book) with particular focus on its impact on the P&L and the Balance Sheet.
  • Develop and present business cases that match complicated financial products to our Clients' needs
  • Take sole responsibility for key Clients and important transactions.
  • Take overall responsibility for your risk and regulatory performance.
  • You will manage your extensive network of business relationships and introducers to acquire, develop and service suitable clients.

Key Interfaces

  • Clients (& Client representatives)
  • The wider professional community including key influencers, business leaders and potential introducers.
  • Banking team (typically made up of other bankers/senior bankers and a Banking Assistants)
  • Head of Media Banking
  • Back office departments (including working closely with Credit, Compliance and the Operation departments)

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience

  • You will have a successful background in Commercial Banking with broad experience across the financial services industry and detailed knowledge of the commercial market.
  • Significant relationship manager experience and a strong track record of developing new business, attracting new clients and tailoring solutions to meet the needs of commercial clients.
  • You will be passionate about providing the highest level of client service.

Skills**- Excellent Interpersonal skills (Networking, Negotiation, Presentation, Influencing) and collaboration

  • Excellent Business Development skills, with a proven track record
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to produce well balanced, objective and incisive credit reports
  • Competence with Microsoft Office

Qualifications

  • Relevant Banking Qualifications would be an advantage
