    Description
    This role is within our small, but growing VAT Consultancy team.

    This busy team provide their clients with expert advice on a variety of issues including the VAT liability of income, VAT deduction and partial exemption, property transactions, business acquisitions and the place of supply.

    The team also advice on HMRC dispute resolution including appeals to the Tax Tribunal.

    Advise on liability queries – VAT treatment of transactions, place of supply of services queries, contract reviews, etc.

    Advise on property issues, including new builds, building works, capital goods scheme, option to tax, sales (and TOGCs), and cost issues.

    Respond to ad hoc questions from clients/team members on a wide range of issues.
    Undertake training for clients/staff, as appropriate.
    Consider cross-selling opportunities (audit/tax/strategic advice).
    Experience of providing planning and structuring VAT advice on transactions.

    The ability to clearly explain complex issuesto colleagues, clients and HM Revenue & Customs, both verbally and in writing.
