Interim Payments Lawyer - Six Months - Multinational Bank

Our client, a top city law firm is currently looking for a Payments Lawyer to go on secondment with one of their key clients, a multinational bank.

As a general Payments Lawyer, you would be responsible for the provision of legal services to the Payments business which offers a full suite of wholesale and e-Commerce payment solutions to the banks clients.

You will be assisting all teams within the Payments practice group, covering core cash, liquidity and account solutions, merchant services and customer negotiations with their external clients.

The position will entail provision of legal advice on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues, daily business support, drafting, advice on documentation issues and negotiation of the banks Payments product and services agreements with their external clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Advising on products and services, including contract negotiation and documentation
• Providing legal advice to the business and functions
• Updating template agreements and documents
• Instruct and liaise with external counsel, as required, on transactional and bespoke product matters, including review and analysis of legal opinions. Legal selects, engages, and manages outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engaged
• Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex issues for the products or lines of business that you support and in connection with the development and implementation of innovative product solutions and build outs
• Collaborate with global business teams and legal/compliance colleagues and other control functions in each of our regions to address and resolve complex issues, develop policies, procedures and training materials to advance the business objectives in a compliant manner

The role is to start as soon as possible the client can wait up to one month in order to secure the right person. Our client would ideally like someone full office based however is open to considering a hybrid working basis.
