A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join an award-winning top 100 (and rapidly growing) UK law firm which is top ranked by all the legal directories across multiple practice areas.

You'll be joining a trailblazing Partner who isabsolutely flying. Personality-wise the team are incredibly down-to-earth and great to work worth it.


This is currently a remote working role, and the firm are very happy to for it to remain that way, but they are looking to grow their office space in central Birmingham in the New Year, which you are more than welcome to work from.

So, if you would likethat office time too, you'll need to live a commutable distance to central Birmingham.


The role:


The successful Legal Assistant will be working as part of a small team within Property law, specialising in property development, particularly in relation to regeneration schemes and infrastructure projects.

You'll be working to advise on a broad range ofacquisitions and disposals, development agreements, building licences, options, and pre-emption agreements.

The team also have notable experience advising a range of clients (investment funds, RPs, impact investors etc.) to deliver social housing solutions.


The Legal Assistant's day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

  • Document filing
  • internal system case management and external data room
  • Opening new matters on the internal case management system and external data room
  • Obtaining search quotes for property portfolios
  • Ordering property searches
  • Downloading documents from HM Land Registry
  • Updating the online case tracker to show when searches, documentation and key items have been received through the transaction
  • Liaising with estate agents to provide matter updates
  • Conducting legal research
  • Liaising with clients

About you:


This Legal Assistant role would really suit someone who knows their way around office work, and the administrative side of legal work who is looking for a step up in their next role.

The ideal applicant will be educated to degree level degree OR possess six months' office experience along with the following:

  • Working knowledge of the Land Registry and HMRC portals
  • Experience of completions i.e. you know the difference between BACS and CHAPS payments
  • Understanding of searches, TR1s, AP1s etc.
  • You will have spent time working in an office / have office skills and so you will have the confidence and ability to work from home.
