    Position Description:
    Tactical Fleet Planning Specialist

    As a Tactical Fleet Planning Specialist at RAF Leeming, you will be an integral part of the Joint Hawk Training Squadron (JHTS) team, delivering Continuing Airworthiness Management Support Services (CAMSS) for the Qatar Hawk fleet.


    Your key responsibilities will include:

    Core Duties:

    Integrated Fleet Planning:

    Create and manage an integrated Tactical Fleet Plan based on the Strategic Fleet Plan, life limited parts plans, major OOP (Out of Phase) tasks, and other critical factors.



    Short Term Forecast:

    Develop and manage a short-term forecast by tail number, collaborating closely with the Part 145 team to ensure all tasking is executed as directed.



    Flying Performance Oversight:

    Provide daily oversight of the fleets flying performance, defining flying priorities and sustainable hours for each tail number to manage aircraft into their next maintenance events.


    Work Package

    Management:
    Develop and maintain on-aircraft work packages, including technical instructions, resource and material requirements for individual maintenance activities.

    Statement of Work (SoW)

    Management:
    Compile, manage, and agree with the Statement of Work for any on-aircraft planned maintenance event.


    Emergent Work Planning:

    Undertake the planning of additional and emergent work during maintenance to ensure workload is managed effectively against schedule requirements.



    Maintenance Task Performance:
    Review and report on the effectiveness of maintenance task performance in both Line and Base maintenance.

    Process

    Management:

    Manage elements of the SoW, Pre-Input, and Post-Output Review Meeting (PIRM & PORM) processes, maintenance task performance, and additional/emergent work requirements.


    Leadership Responsibilities:

    Ensure effective provision of Tactical Fleet Planning activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness.

    Complete all Tactical Fleet Planning activities appropriately, documenting them in relevant systems, identifying and escalating issues as necessary.
    Comply with the MAI CAME, its associated procedures and standards, and other company procedures and standards.
    Apply Human Factors and Error Management philosophies to all Tactical Fleet Planning activities, understanding and managing associated risks.

    Ensure Tactical Fleet Planning activities are compliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, including supporting Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits.

    Demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework.


    Budget Responsibilities:
    This role does not have any budgetary responsibilities.


    Competencies:

    Knowledge:
    Experience in Part M and Part 145 activities within a Maintenance & Support environment.
    Direct experience in fleet planning, maintenance planning & tasking, demand management, and aircraft scheduling.
    Understanding of Safety and Quality Management.
    Knowledge of the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to Maintenance Tasking and Verification processes and activities.
    Operational knowledge and understanding of platform contract(s), the fleets performance, and business key performance metrics.
    Understanding of Reliability Programs and the impact of their findings on the Operator Maintenance Programme.


    Skills:
    Good to strong quantitative and analytical skills/experience, with Lean management principles.
    Effective and credible communicator with good interpersonal skills.
    Requires product knowledge and a good understanding of the relationship with interfacing/contributory areas.
    Able to analyze and interpret data with a high level of attention to detail.
    Comprehensive understanding of current IT software packages used within Fleet Planning and Maintenance Tasking & Verification disciplines.
    Understanding of Project Management techniques.
    Ability to build strong relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organizations, OEMs, Suppliers, and other key stakeholders personnel.


    Qualifications:
    Minimum of a recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant Technical discipline.
