If you are an experienced echocardiographer or newly qualified physiologist with a desire to expand your skills in a large tertiary centre then we may have the job for you.
We are looking for enthusiastic team members with a passion for echocardiography who can help us in our provision of outstanding patient care.
In return we can offer you a well established training program in echo and experience in a variety of specialist areas such as physiologist led valve services and ICC clinics, multidisciplinary heart failure clinics, contrast echo, stress echo and adult and paediatric congenital assessments.
Main duties of the job
We provide out of hours provision for emergency echo and suitably qualified physiologists will be required to assist with this service.

Working for our organisation
We are a large department of friendly physiologists who work across our two hospitals.
Over recent years we have developed our staff training program and this has resulted in a team of physiologists who are highly skilled and motivated and very adept at supporting others to develop their particular areas of interest and skills.
We hold BSE departmental accreditation for TTE, Stress echo and TOE. We have a successful history in supporting physiologists to obtain personal BSE accreditation. The echo team is led by a BSE assessor and supported by highly trained band 7 physiologists.Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Performing and reporting adult transthoracic echo to a high standard.
Assisting consultant cardiologists to perform transoesophageal echo.
Leading exercise tolerance tests and head up tilt table testing.
Analysing and reporting ambulatory ECG tests.
Supervising and supporting junior team members.
Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a cardiology department
- Independent in TTE
- Working towards or achieved BSE accreditation
- Independent in reporting ambulatory ECG
- Independently performing ETT and HUTT

- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
