This is permanent Financial Controller role is working for faith based charity based a short walk from March Arch underground station.

With over 2800 members the successful Financial Controller will report to the Executive Director and work as part of financeteam of 4 people.

With 2 direct reports the day to day duties of Financial Controller will include;

  • Leading and managing the day to day functions of the finance team to ensure effective service delivery of operational accounting including sales and purchase ledger and credit control
  • Timely production of monthly management accounts and budgets
  • Oversee the charity's cashflow and to produce updated cashflow forecasts
  • Complete and lead on year end audits including liaising with external and internal auditors
  • Ensure that the finance team is meeting all financial controls and procedures and that they are clearly outlined in the relevant Operational Manuals
  • Analyse and monitor financial reports with SMG and Trustees
  • Ensure that the charity is meeting all of its statutory and regulatory obligations
  • Manage monthly payroll processes and changes
This is a very hands on role and applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in financial planning and reporting. A proven track record in doing so ideally within a charity is essential.

In addition, this busy team is undergoing a system migration andwhilst the Financial Controller will not be leading on the project prior experience and exposure to system migration is ideal.

Applicants for the position of Financial Controller should ideally have professional accounting qualifications such ACCA/CIMA orbe qualified by experience.


Prior line management experience is favourable but applicants must have experience of management accounting, financial planning and completing year end audits.
