Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for providing excellent customer service? We are seeking an ICT Support Officer to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive technical support to our staff, students, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the first point of contact for ITrelated enquiries and technical issues, ensuring prompt and courteous assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems efficiently, minimising downtime and disruptions.
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of the college's network infrastructure.
  • Create and manage user accounts, ensuring proper access rights and permissions.
  • Provide technical support during lectures and presentations, ensuring smooth operation of audiovisual equipment.
  • Contribute to the documentation of common issues and their resolutions, creating a valuable IT support reference.
  • Collaborate with team members to address complex technical issues and assist with project work.

Person Specification:


  • Essential Criteria:_
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customercentric approach.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to logically analyse and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Positive attitude towards teamwork and cooperation.
  • Desirable Criteria:_
  • Education: ITrelated course or qualification (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Experience: Previous experience of working within an IT Service Delivery or Operations Department.
  • Technology: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, and Active Directory.
  • Cyber Security Awareness: Understanding of common security threats and preventive measures.
  • Documentation and Training: Experience creating user guides or documentation for IT systems and processes.

Although the role is based at Folly Lane, it will provide IT helpdesk support across all College sites, so there may be a requirement to work at these locations on occasion.
