A regional civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead the development of junior engineers and support the business with the technical aspect on some of their more complex projects.

The business turnover circa £70m anddeliver projects up to £25m as the principal contractor and a large workforce to make the most of self-delivering what they can for clients across the South Coast including Hampshire County Council, Southern Water and private sector clients.


In return they can offer you the opportunity to introduce new training programmes and lead recruitment for engineering staff who will work on projects such as port expansions, water treatment works, coastal defence, highways and public realm work.


It is essential that you are already chartered and can take on the delegated engineer role to help others through their chartership journey and champion it for the business.


Engineering Manager duties include:

  • General overview of engineering resource across up to 10 projects
  • Line management of all site engineers, up to 15 at different stages of their career
  • Attend career fairs and universities to recruit/attract new prospects
  • Move between sites to advise on technical queries
  • Recruiting temporary and permanent staff
  • Supporting the preconstruction team with technical tenders
